You can search for a book in your subject and read the whole book or just a few sentences, highlight text, copy, enlarge print, change background colour, save it to your 'virtual' bookshelf or even listen to it Childlink - a one stop source for information on children, young people and families in the UK and Ireland. It covers legislation, policies, practices and Education, Welfare, Lifestyle, Justice, Benefit Issues, Youth Affairs, Health and Employment Marketline - provides 'Business information from around the world, across markets and inside companies Social Care TV - A new online channel for everyone involved in the social care sector. This site offers access to video based training resources and general interest programmes, reflecting the issues, challenges and rewards in current social care practice e-lawstudent - database of legal materials (lectures, cases, articles) for law students Infotrac & General OneFile - A one stop source for news and journal articles on a wide range of topics from Gale Databases Issues Online - online access to book content and worksheets on every imaginable contemporary social issue provided by Independence Educational Publishers Intute - access to the very best web resources for education (all subjects) and research. Included are support materials, case studies and ides for teaching. Includes free internet tutorials JISC MediaHub - a new multimedia platform offering a wealth of digital image, video and audio collections accessible from a single interface. The new platform offers access to free-at-the-point-of-use images, video and audio content licensed for educational and research use, via an easy-to-use interface, cross-searching across all the collections and the ability to source content from a wide range of content-providers through a thumbnail and metadata search portal. (Contains the previous separate resources 'Education Image Gallery' and 'Film & Sound Online'). It depends on the resource and where you are. When inside the College you can use most of these resources without logging in although for some you have to click on Direct Access. If you are outside the College then you may be asked to log in. If so then click on the UK Federation link, choose Shrewsbury College from the drop-down list and then log in using your college username and password |
